This banner was sent to use by a Japanese-Canadian woman. She writes, “…my friend who passed on [on November 10] was the motivator behind me to join in this project. While I was drawing Jizos, I completely forgot about [her] who was a survivor of Hiroshima (how could I forget this!) and when I spent the time with her husband the night before the [memorial] service, I didn’t even remember that I sent you the Jizo tapestry which was connected to Hiroshima and for the people who suffered from this horrible happenings. . . . I know now that this is not a coincidence . . . “Jizos for Peace” became my way of respecting [her] and this will be a good part of my healing process.”
