60th Birthday Party

A woman writes about a Jizo-making party she held at her house:

Over the day about 25 people came. One person kept reading from Chozen’s book so we all learned about the generosity of Jizo. . . . Ages ranged from 5 to 78, four different languages were spoken . . . a Hiroshima survivor made a simple yet tunning image and one person who came stayed for over three hours and never said anything. . . . some panels were very humorous while others portrayed a quiet grace. It was a day filled with the beauty of life: much laughter and tears.
